Breitling Introduces the Navitimer B19 Chronograph Perpetual Calendar and the B01 Concorde Tribute Watch
In the history of pilot’s watches, there have been two main aesthetic directions. One is the minimalist pilot’s watch, which strives to present time information in the clearest way possible, standing out in the complex military environment with its deliberate simplicity. The other is the powerful instrument watch, which strives to integrate as much practical information as possible. A typical example of the latter is the Breitling Navitimer series, which now adds two new masterpieces: the B19 Chronograph Perpetual Calendar and the B01 Concorde Tribute Chronograph.
Navitimer B19 Chronograph Perpetual Calendar
The Navitimer B19 Chronograph Perpetual Calendar first appeared in 2024 as part of the brand’s 140th anniversary celebration, followed by a sky-blue version in 2025, joining its core collection. It combines the chronograph display and sliding bezel common to the Navitimer series with all the additional information of a perpetual calendar, including moon phase, day of the week, date, month, and leap year indication. In 2026, they will launch two brand-new watches, innovating on the 2025 models in a playful way and further expanding the product line. Besides the light blue of the sky, the first new watch features a stratospheric navy blue, while the third is in a charcoal gray representing space. You might expect the space-themed version to be black, but from a practical standpoint, the gray dial makes the moon phase display and the black elements on the bezel stand out more.

I’ve always had a soft spot for space-themed watches, and the design concept of each watch representing a different layer of the atmosphere deeply attracts me. The stratospheric blue version, with its deep lacquered dial, surpasses the other model, and this watch is limited to 75 pieces, making it extremely rare.
While this watch is itself a perpetual calendar chronograph, its 43mm case and bezel are made of platinum, so platinum is a given. However, as part of the core series, the charcoal gray version uses platinum only on the bezel, with the case made of stainless steel.
Both watches are powered by the B19 perpetual calendar chronograph movement. According to Breitling’s market research, this is currently the only automatic perpetual calendar chronograph movement in its core product catalog (Patek Philippe and Vacheron Constantin’s perpetual calendar chronographs are all manual-winding, making this advantage particularly prominent). Its significance lies not only in Breitling’s ability to produce high-end movements with observatory certification and a 96-hour power reserve (as well as all the aforementioned functions), but also in their ability to consistently and reliably maintain mass production.

Navitimer B01 A Chronograph Pays Tribute to the Concorde
Navitimer B01 Chronograph Pays Tribute to the Concorde
I must admit, whenever Breitling collaborates with airlines or classic aircraft models, I always feel they could be bolder in their designs. They tend to opt for a conservative approach, releasing themed colorways for existing models rather than truly eye-catching, adventurous pieces. Unfortunately, this Concorde tribute watch is no exception.
If you’re expecting a watch that delves into the history of the Concorde or has custom design elements that would make it stand out, you might be disappointed. What we see is a standard Navitimer B01 in stratospheric blue (similar to the perpetual calendar mentioned above), inspired by the areas of the sky the Concorde once flew. This blue hue is paired with the Concorde’s iconic white accents, but it all feels too straightforward. Make no mistake, it looks fantastic, and I love the rich blue, but as a special edition watch, these design elements feel too superficial and lack any real distinction.
This watch is powered by the B01 automatic chronograph movement, boasting a 70-hour power reserve. It’s Breitling’s flagship chronograph movement, with the bridges and rotor adorned with exquisite Geneva stripes. Through the transparent case back, engraved with "One of 593 pieces. A tribute to the Concorde. Jet airliner. Mach 2," further demonstrates Breitling’s deep understanding of the aircraft it refers to. "One of 593 pieces" refers both to the watch’s limited release and to the Olympus 593 turbojet engine used in the Concorde.
I genuinely like this watch, and I would greatly appreciate it if it were just a regular extension of the series. But as a special edition, I feel they could have done even better.
